Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Short version: Chesspresso is free to play. Premium is an optional one-time purchase of €2.99 (VAT included). Because Premium starts the moment you pay, there are no refunds after purchase — except where the law requires one. Be kind in chat and with your player name.
Who we are
Chesspresso is made by Dimitri Studios, obrt za usluge, vl. Paula Šego, Fojnička ulica 29, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia (Obrtni registar, MBS 99300923). Contact: contact@chesspresso.space.
Playing
The game is free. You can play as a guest or sign in (for example with Google). Your player name, piece and rating are public. Please choose a friendly name and be respectful in chat: no insults, harassment, spam or sharing contact details. We may change or remove names, hide chat, or block accounts that break these rules. You can delete your account at any time.
Premium
- What it is: a one-time purchase (not a subscription) for €2.99, VAT included. It removes the ads on chesspresso.space and unlocks the extra styles, boards and piece colours, and the unicorn pieces.
- Who sells it: Premium is sold through Link, LLC (part of Stripe), which acts as the reseller (merchant of record): Stripe takes the payment, charges the right VAT for your country and sends your receipt. We never see your card details.
- Your account: Premium belongs to your signed-in account and works on every device where you sign in. It is not part of the versions of the game on other platforms (for example CrazyGames), which have their own rules.
- Steam: Chesspresso Premium is also sold by Valve on Steam (included in the paid Steam version), under Steam's own terms and refund rules. If your Steam account has bought it (not a free weekend, trial or borrowed copy), signing in with Steam gives your account Premium on the website and in the apps too (and it ends there if Steam refunds it). If you bought Premium here, you can ask for a free Steam key for the Steam version while we have keys available — an extra, not part of what you pay for.
- How long: “forever” means for as long as we run Chesspresso. If we ever had to stop, we would tell you in advance.
Refunds and your right of withdrawal
Premium is digital content that starts immediately after payment. Before paying, you agree that it starts at once and confirm that you therefore lose your 14-day right of withdrawal (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)). For that reason purchases are final and not refunded, except where the law gives you a right to one — for example if Premium does not work and we cannot fix it, or if you were charged twice. Write to us and we will sort it out.
Refund requests sent to Stripe are forwarded to us. Link, the seller, may also refund a purchase at its own discretion within 60 days. If a purchase is refunded, or a payment is reversed through your bank, Premium is removed from the account.
Changes and availability
We keep improving the game, so features may change. We do our best to keep it running but cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.
Law
These terms are governed by Croatian law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the consumer law of your country.
